We are incredibly proud to announce that Myonerv was recently named a Finalist at the Santander X UK Awards 2024, securing a £2,500 prize and validating our mission to change the future of stroke and brain injury rehabilitation.
To say the competition was fierce would be an understatement. Out of 600 incredible startup applicants from across the country, Myonerv was selected to join the final 6. It is a milestone that reminds us exactly why we started this journey: because the world is ready for a new approach to recovery.
Pitching at Santander HQ
The culmination of the awards took us to the Santander UK Headquarters in Milton Keynes. Pitching our vision in that room was an unforgettable experience – especially considering who was sitting across the table.
We had the distinct honor of presenting Myonerv to a formidable judging panel that included Gary Neville, Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill, and the CEO of Santander UK.
When you are building a medical device, it is easy to get lost in the data, the engineering, and the clinical trials. But standing in front of such highly accomplished leaders gave us the opportunity to bring the focus back to the human element – to ask our central question: “What about the person using this?”
We shared the story of the Myonerv seed—how our co-founder Sam Kamali’s experience with his cousin highlighted a massive gap in traditional recovery protocols. We explained our vision of bringing rehabilitation out of the clinic and into daily life, giving patients the freedom to progress on their own terms while keeping clinicians actively involved.
Seeing that high-caliber panel resonate with our vision – and recognize the immense potential of our wearable neuro-technology – was deeply validating for our entire team.
What This Means for Myonerv
Being selected as a top 6 finalist by an institution like Santander is more than just an accolade; it is a powerful signal that the wider community recognizes the urgent need to innovate in the neuro-rehab space.
The £2,500 award will be injected directly back into our mission. It will help accelerate our continued hardware development, refine our remote-pairing technology for clinicians, and move us one step closer to getting Myonerv into the hands of the people who need it most.
